Important Update for residents affected by the water outage in Conwy County

We’re aware that large areas across Conwy are affected by the current water outage caused by the burst water pipe at the Bryn Cowlyd Water Treatment Works.

If you’re currently without water, ClwydAlyn is working to gather as much bottled water as possible to distribute across our Independent living schemes that are without water, and we will be establishing some central points where any residents that are struggling to get hold of bottled water can drop in to collect some supplies to keep them going whilst Welsh Water continue to work to fix the problem.

Whilst around 30,000 homes are currently affected, it’s likely that more homes will experience water outages and so if you live in and around Conwy and currently have water, make sure that you are filling your kettles, sinks and any other containers that you have with water just in case.

The following information and advice may also be helpful if you’re without water:

• If you’ve been turning your taps on to check whether water is running, make sure that you turn them off again, just in case the supply returns when you’re out of your home.
• Combi boilers won’t be affected for heating, only hot water.
• Your toilet will only flush once.
