North Wales Housing Association, ClwydAlyn has announced the restart of development work on their new affordable housing scheme on Builder Street in Llandudno.
This significant milestone comes after a period of uncertainty following the collapse of the previous developer.
The project will feature 77 new one, two, three and four-bedroom homes for rent, in an area where there is a recognised shortfall of affordable housing. The high-quality homes will provide accommodation for families as well as over-55s.
The state-of-the-art design of the buildings will ensure that the homes are not just comfortable and attractive, but also fit for the future, with energy-efficient features to promote sustainability.
Originally this development was being delivered by Lane End Developments, work on the project was halted when the company entered administration in April last year. ClwydAlyn has now partnered with St. Asaph-based K & C Construction to deliver construction works on the site.
The Builder Street development is set to benefit the local region, through employment opportunities and other community development, reflecting ClwydAlyn’s mission to enrich and support communities across North Wales.

Key stakeholders from K & C Construction and ClwydAlyn visited the site to mark the restart in works, showcase the progress made so far and celebrate the partnerships driving the project forward.
The development is part of ClwydAlyn’s investment of £250m across areas of North Wales that have been independently assessed as requiring more affordable housing. The housing association is set to deliver a further 1500 new homes across the region by 2025.
