The first residents have begun to move into their new homes, at ClwydAlyn’s Northern Gateway development in Deeside. The site will see 100 affordable, energy-efficient, new homes created in the area.
Social Housing provider, ClwydAlyn has handed over homes to the first residents to move into its Northern Gateway development, at Garden City in Deeside. Built by Castle Green Partnerships and developed with Flintshire County Council and Welsh Government; the mixture of new properties comprises two, three and four bedroomed homes as well as two bedroomed bungalows and one and two bedroomed apartments.
With a focus on tackling fuel poverty and minimising the negative impact that less energy efficient homes can have on health and wellbeing, all homes at Northern Gateway are built using timber frames and high levels of insulation, with air source heat pumps to provide heating and hot water, and solar electricity panels.
“Our home is energy efficient, and this will help us so much.
“It’s amazing to be making our new home here."
