ClwydAlyn, a North Wales Housing Association, show their support for the LGBTQ+ community through a wide variety of fundraising and educational events across Pride Month.
ClwydAlyn Pride Week started Monday 17th June – Kickstarting the celebrations was an internal staff event on 18th June, a Let’s Talk session with Lisa Power. Lisa is a well-known LGBTQ+ advocate having campaigned for the community for over three decades. 20th June saw staff members wearing bright colours and ClwydAlyn’s residents and staff members were encouraged to hold their own events to help raise awareness. To aid in the celebration, decoration packs were made available to brighten up their spaces.
Especially for Flint’s first ever Pride event, which took place Saturday 22nd June, ClwydAlyn’s community café, The Old Courthouse Café, opened for the event. ClwydAlyn staff were in attendance and raising money for the housing association’s chosen charity, Stonewall Housing, the leading national charity supporting LGBTQ+ communities who are experiencing homelessness or living in unsafe environments.
