The developers building new homes at Ruthin’s Glasdir site are giving back to the local community by sponsoring football kits for young people playing for Ruthin Town Youth FC.

Williams Homes, the contractor building 63 new affordable homes at site on behalf of housing association ClwydAlyn in partnership with Denbighshire County Council and the Welsh Goverment, are providing the sponsorship as part of both organisations’ commitment to ensuring the development creates as much benefit as possible for the local community.

Craig Sparrow, Executive Director of Development at ClwydAlyn, said: “An important part of ClwydAlyn’s commitment to building high quality affordable homes is to ensure that all partners involved in our schemes commit to giving back to the local communities in which we work in a wide range of ways, from creating local employment to supporting local initiatives. We are delighted that Williams Homes has provided this sponsorship to Ruthin’s local youth team as part of our work in the area, and we wish the team all the very best of luck for the coming season.”

"We are delighted and extremely grateful to Williams Home (Bala) Ltd for being kind enough to sponsor the smart new u16 kit for the coming season, the boys are very pleased with it and can't wait to play their first match wearing it! It's a brilliant gesture which is very much appreciated by the boys, their parents and all at Ruthin Town Youth FC."

The Glasdir scheme is part of ClwydAlyn’s development programme to deliver 1,500 new homes in North Wales by 2025 through an investment of £250 million, bringing the total number of homes the housing association owns and manages to over 7,500.
